Shock Therapy Machine
2006
Acrylic on paper
30" x 22"
I found this old electroconvulsive therapy machine in the Central State Hospital museum. It was widely alleged that the hospital used shock therapy in the 1950s as a form of punishment for patients who were difficult to control. I had a very eerie feeling being so close to the machine.
