This painting is of windows from the Walker Building, formerly the White Male Convalescent Building, at Central State (psychiatric) Hospital in Millegeville, Georgia. The building was constructed in 1884 and has been closed since the mid-1970s. I specifically chose the broken window to convey the abandonment of the building. I allowed most of the painting to be of the flat wall; the only significant instance of spatial depth is through the broken window, leading to the pitch-darkness of the silent buildings interior. Note the steel grills placed over the windows to prevent patient esacpe.
